It is a return vent
I am surprised this is not a more debated topic.
So many people have big tanks here on a second floor and never discuss this.[/ QUOTE]

I live in a condo that is almost 40 years old and I double checked with my management office on the weight load specs before installed my smaller Reefer 250. In my opinion people overlook this important point and have paid the price later on. I have seen pictures on R2R that show weight issues and their effects!

Tank looks great. I started with the same exact fish you did. Eventually I thought it would be better served with hot sauce.

Also really like you floors

Well this was a heck of a weekend
I spent the majority of the weekend continue to Aquascape. This was a fairly frustrating process. I couldn’t settle on a design, every time I took a picture and took it apart to try something new, I could not get back to the original picture.

I also had to fight with numerous glues. After lots of work , trial and error and trying different things I finally have it complete. I was warned by people to not go to high up then by others to not go so low....
It was tuff to find a happy medium. I wanted a minimalist scape but there is no way to do it and still get even close to 1lb per gallon

It feels a bit busy and a bit more cluttered then I planned but I do like it. I wanted to make it simpler but there was no way to get even close on the 1lb per gallon while keeping it simple. It has about 83 lbs in a 91 gallon display tank. This is Carib Sea life rock. I used mostly coral Crete epoxy along with some purple colored reef safe CA glue

I did use some activator on the CA glue. Hopefully it’s not an issue.

Here are a few pics of the process

I had a big score today with a local getting out of the hobby. I got piles
Of high end gear for 20 cents on the dollar
I almost actually felt bad but I paid what they asked which happen to be dang near nothing

For someone just starting out this was a huge win!
For example for $45!I got every single thing in this picture including extra brand new reagent....
Was nuts!

This picture was just the beginning. I got boxes of additives, dosing items , salt, etc etc etc
Not even sure what to do with it all at the moment

For whatever it's worth, I found on my 2 year journey with my Reefer 450 that I needed to keep adding rock to have more real estate for new corals. It seems to work best to slope down towards the front so the corals don't shade each other.

Funny you bring that up, I noticed that this evening while shining a flash light in the tank.

Is there a rule of thumb on how much space to leave between the back of the rock and the back of the tank for cleaning?

I may move the whole scape back a touch

I generally like to be able to get my hand between the glass and the rocks all around the tank for easy access.

Gotta love Red Sea Systems although ill never understand why stands need assembly.
Nice build that was easy to follow and great creation on rock work.
Welcome also to R2R

Hey I see one square inch of empty cabinet space! Can’t you fit another piece of gear in there :)

Lol wow
CraZy setup you got going! Mine is my first tank so I’m just hoping to survive the cycling

Do you have a build thread somewhere?
