Alright so a few weeks ago I had these peppermint shrimp kill my pistol shrimp, emerald crab, and skunk cleaner. Now I'm down 5 large (for a nano) inverts (counting the peppermints, who are in my refugium). I just went out and bought a new emerald crab, but I was thinking about switching it up with some of the others. I've got 2 yellow watchman gobies (in hopes of making a pair), I could add a pistol shrimp again and see what happens, but tbh, as cool as my last one was, he was a major pain; always digging up stuff and attacking coral. Any suggestions? The tank is a 29 gallon biocube with 2 clowns, a royal gramma, 2 watchman gobies, a few snails, a emerald crab, tons of LPS and softies, and a few hermits. I run a 10 gallon refugium, UV, sump, and skimmer.

Sounds odd that peppermint shrimp killed those other inverts. Usually the pistol shrimp would kill the peppermints. Same thing with the skunk cleaner shrimp. Unless you peppermints were huge and the others were tiny. I'd think something else would be the culprit.

I'm positive on the peppermints, I saw them eating the skunk cleaner and I had never had a problem before them. I tried a ton of ways before eventually just taking down my aquascape and catching them with a net, even that took 2 hours but it's what I would recommend unless you want to buy some expensive trap that may or may not work.

Oh ok ... that’s definitely what I’m not trying to do! But he will have to go he cost maybe 5 bucks I can’t have him feasting on things that cost 20 times more than him
