Hi everyone:
I’ve been in the hobby for a few years but only took the plunge in to saltwater a couple of years ago. This site has been a constant source of helpful info for me so I’d like to share my latest project. I recently lost a magnificent fox face and a scopa in my custom 240 gallon FOWLR (65x24x36) and decided that it would be too stressful on the remaining fish to pull them each for quarantine in my 90 gallon rack system. My solution, pull everything but the fish to turn my DT into a quarantine. I’m currently on day 58 and, aside from losing my six line wrasse around Day 20, all of my fish are healthy and looking good. My tank looks terrible and I had a 40 gallon tub and a 30 gallon tank full of live rock sand and inverts. The next challenge will be ending the “fallow” period for my inverts, live rock, and sand. The challenge after that is growing my Biota Yellow Tangs big enough to be freed from their acclimation chamber. My quarantine has relied on Copper Power, a Hanna checker, API copper test kits, Seachem ammonia badges, Seachem metroplex, Seachem focus, API General Cure, CupriSorb, poly-filter, and a CWS-200 algae turf scrubber. If folks are interested I can post my quarantine log to see how I got here.
