There are three smaller ones and the larger original colony. The small pieces are each about 4"x6" the main colony is about 6"x10". Its a scroll type hammer so a bit harder to break down into small frags hence the large pieces to rehome. I had to do some re-aqua scaping a while back to deal with it as it was starting to crowd the front glass. It is a lot of green right now, I'd like to get some more colour variation once I free up the space. The GSP is another battle to keep from overtaking the whole tank.

I guess excessive coral growth it is a good problem to have. 😄
You might need a bandsaw for those scroll types, but large colonies like that are difficult to come by and you should be proud of how large you've grown them. To be honest, I think it looks quite good as is, but if you're really looking to remove something I'd keep your hammers over the GSP. I do like the green, reminds me of a nice planted aquarium. The camera was just a bit far.

I do try to keep the GSP under control by removing it from time to time. It is mostly growing on the back wall and covering the overflow box on araga-crete panels I made a loooong time ago. When I separated the hammer colony, I used a small haldheld saw to strategically cut off the sections where there were some natural gaps. I'll try to get some better photos to share here, that one was just what I had in my recent files and was taken as an overview for the vacation tank sitter when I was away last month.

Yes, we would love to see! How old is that hammer?

Ive had the hammer colony for about 20 years. Originally it was about 2" across.

Here's a shot from yesterday just as the lights were coming on and the polyps were still a bit retracted. You can see the separate pieces better.
