Greetings Reefers.
I am a new member and want to introduce myself. My wife and I have many years of experience with raising koi in a 3200 gallon pond in the state of Washington. But I am moving to Phoenix in a few months, like maybe late June, or early July. It is not very practical to have a koi pond in a climate where summer temps can be 3 digits for months, and sometimes up to 115f. So instead we are going to have a salt water aquarium. I never do anything small or half way so I plan to start this journey with a 180 or 210 gallon tank or larger. We got VERY inspired eating at a restaurant in Wyomissing Pennsylvania last year called Coastal Grill, where there was a HUGE reef aquarium. I was instantly spellbound and I have to have that in my home. Maybe not that big. Maybe....
So since I am very scientific about everything I do, I am studying to gather as much knowledge about having a large reef aquarium, and be successful the first time. I am in the process of watching all 31 videos from BRStv which are very informative and helpful. And I have been ordering books. I already have Charles Delbeek and Julian Sprung's "The Reef Aquarium" Anyone who can recommend books will be great.
So I look forward to contributing on this forum and learning all I can from the many experts who have been doing this forever.
Thanks for having me...
Elliot
