Hello everybody
New to keeping pipe fish and seahorses
40 breeder just recently crashed.
Only have a aqueon cue 5 tank laying around
Spend quite a lot in the hobby already this is my last thing.

So the tank measures 11x11x17 and has about 2 inches of sand and 10 or so pounds of sand. My filter is a aquaclear 80 with just a sponge Ceramic rings, chemi-pure elite and some cotton on top to slow the flow a bit for the bubble.
Have a giant rock of xenias, ricorda, two clams, and a massive bubble. May add zoas,or something later.

But main question can I add any of those two fish? Two ponies two pipes for a total of 4 fish? Or only a pair of either?
Something I may have to keep watch on if I have them? Common things that go along with them common issues . All I read is they don't like high levels of ammonia and high current. Any tips or answer would be helpful thanks!

I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but neither pipefish nor the larger specie of seahorses can thrive in a tank that size.

The dwarf seahorses could live in a tank that size but dwarf seahorses will only eat live food as their staple . Since most folks do not have copepod cultures large enough to meet the needs of DSH, it means that bbs must be hatched and enriched daily. It is a rigorous chore that very few folks can stick with longer than a year.

Ahh dang lol. That's disappointing. Any recommendations for a tank this small? I already know of the clownfish but to simple lol any other great options?
