Help New RBTA

I got a RBTA a little over a week ago and this is the second time it's got brown slime coming from its mouth and the mouth is wide open. What is wrong with it?

Have you fed it? What are your tank parameters? What type of lighting do you have?

It could easily just be expelling waste or it could be expelling zooxanthellae algae.

Salinity 1.025
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 5
Ammonia 0
Calcium 440
PH 8.4

Cree LED lighting came with used tank.

Have not fed it at all. I offered it food and it would not take it.

How old is your tank? What type of foods have you offered and how have you offered them?

Tank has been running since 9/2/10. Silversides, mysis, shrimp. Only twice since I've had it.

Does it always ook the way it does in the photo or is it normally open and without a gaping mouth? A constent gaping mouth is not a good sign. Has it been roaming the tank?

It's attached to a rock pretty good.

Hmmm... How did it look at the store? What fish do you have in your tank?

If he detaches and starts just floating around the tank I would remove it asap, that is a sign of the nem being close to gone. when nems die they can crash a tank easily.

Here is a great link: INTRODUCTION - karensroseanemones.net

It had bubbles and was in the corner of the tank on a tile. 2 clowns, tailspot blenny, sixline.

Are the cowns hosting it at all? if so, what is the size ration between the clowns and nem? Sometimes clowns can love a nem to death if the nem is to small.

What is your dKH?
