Hello everyone,

My name is Jonathan from The Netherlands. I started my reeftank 3 days ago. I converted my freshwater tank 160gallons (600 liters). I have been in the fresh water aquarium hobby for at least 5 years and wanted to try my luck at reefkeeping

Currently there are only 2 dead rocks and a thick sand bottom (thick substrate is a freshwater thing I guess bacteria surface goes in salt water tanks as well) in the tank

I will do reefkeeping without of the fancy stuff. No sump, no scrubber, no marine lights (I have one from my freshwater hobby that has WRGB settings), no refugium

Just sand, water, live rocks (when the times is right) and a canister filter

I have seen many hobbyist with a low cost setup have success on YouTube

My first coral with be GSP (Green Star Polyp) I will attach it to the back wall as I have read and hear that it grows like a weed and uses up a lot of excess nutrients. If my aquarium can look like (see attached photo) I will enjoy the hobby and lot
