Hi all

I set up my first ever marine tank yesterday and woke up this morning with it smelling pretty bad. Is this normal ? Is there any advice on this ?

What livestock do you have in the tank? How old is it? How does the water flow look?

If you are using bottled bacteria, there is note on the bottle ( most likely) that will tell you the tank will smell "earthy" for a day or two. Also are you using live rock? The pictures look like there is some algae on it. If so you might have some die off happening. This is why back in the day you would "cure" your live rock.
