Hello Everyone,

I will aquire some SPS frags and need advice on placement and growth. If you have experience on the following SPSs, please chime in. Where's the best place for these and which ones grow really quickly and which ones grow somewhat slow?

The corals are:

-Steve Elias Stag
-Cali Blue Tort
-Oregon Tort

I have a 60g (48" x 15" x 18") with 4 x 54w T5s.

Thanks,
Jeff

I don't have those acros but I do have other acros under similar lighting (5 t-5's on a 75 gallon). Mine are thriving 5 inches below the surface.

Positions posted will work well.
Calcium levels, water parameters, and the intensity of your T5's(age of bulbs, reflectors) will cause the growth rates to vary. Phosphates will effect color and growth.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

As for the Oregon Tort, how painfully slow does this grow? Can it grow more than an inch per year?

I think an inch per year is all your gonna get, maybe slightly more with perfect params.

Keep calcium, alk, SG, and temp very stable for the best color and growth.

on ORA tort i get up 5inches or more a year on oregon tort 3 inches a year dont have the stag that i know of lol but (maybe) but from my other stags depends some i get up to 8 inches a year ware as other 3-4 and i base this off frags i take off a year.

Also growth will increase after it spreads firmly on plug or rock work untill then growth is normaly slow as far as upward growth.
