New sps to look for?

The branching pattern is different but that is neither here nor there. I understand about calling corals what you get them as, thats how so many people believe the ORA hawkins echinata is an echinata.
I guess I am just a but different as I try to ID almost every coral that I come across. I am on my second Veron set as I already wore one out :)

Named corals are overrated, if you're not caught up in it, don't get started ;) I saw a friends tank for the first time on Saturday and every piece I asked about were wild/aquacultured pieces...
There were some nice Aussie acros coming in not too long ago. Fragfarmer Eric had one, Matt @ FnF had a nice one and 250G on RC had a sweet one...

has anyone seen the yellow with red polyp clathrata table acro in person just wondering if it looks like the pic.

It was more brown than anything the last time I was there. I made a trip about 8 weeks ago looking for 5 pieces and that was one of them. I ended up coming home with nada :(

Mako got that stag from me. I got it directly from Rommel at Ultimatefrags. He called it Ultimates pink stag. Not sure, what other names it has.It does best under high lighting. And a super fast grower. Just glad I finally got a frag of it back. :D

thanks Mark I love the pic and wouldnt mind even paying for it brown if I knew it would color up. but I would like to talk to someone who has at least seen it colored up before i pay 150 for a half an inch.

hmm...Sweet!
Half the fun for me is keeping a lookout for cool new looking color combos, or getting a piece that has potential. Most of the wild pieces need some time to heal, get used to captivity and then morph into tank settings.
I have a Japanese porites that I picked up from Jason Fox that is pretty sik. Especially since I KNOW it came out of Japan. But it isn't anything fancy as far as colors though.
Also found some SWEET wild monti's that came out of Indo I am waiting to see what they cook up to be.
Thats more fun that just buying the next ORA piece. For me at least...

I picked up a monti saturday in Alabama that is green with red polyps and it puts the chilipepper and seasons greetings to shame and its not le just a piece someone ended up with. My favorite le monti right now has to be the grinch.

I have both also, the grinch is just so bright.

It was really yellow and I moved it to medium light and now it is neon green and the polyps are like fire orange.
