Hey everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself to the gang. I've been in the hobby for about 10 years now and have worked in a couple of shops in NC (where I'm from) and NJ (where I live now). I have my degree in marine biology and try to stay up to date on all the latest findings in the science and hobby.

My tank back in nc was a 90 gallon mixed reef that was pretty heavy on sps. Since moving to nj, I've been limited on space and am running a 29 that I drilled and plumbed to a 10 gal sump. Needless to say, I've had to alter my reefing habits.

The new 29.

I'm a bit of a wrasse junkie and have been for a while now, so I'm pretty knowledgeable on most labrids and welcome questions if anyone has any, I'll do my best to answer!

Looking forward to getting involved in the community and hopefully meet up with some local reefers!

Thanks!

So, I thought it time for some update posts. I've been building up on stock, and added some rock. It's a bit cluttered, but I plan to do done rearranging. I need to let everything grow in a bit now.

My yashia didn't want to come out for pics :-( I wish my pics showed the colors better, but it's cell phone pics, so things are not as bright.

I started running biopellets last week. Getting better sps polyp extension now. Also, had 2 smooth skin acros come down with red bugs. They're qt in a 5 gal system after a bayer dip. Plan to reintroduce after 2 weeks to ensure red bugs have starved in dt. That's why there's 2 big empty epoxy holes up top. Happy with how are coming together. Planning on plumbing through wall to a 40 gallon sump soon since the 10 gallon is a liiiiitttllleeeee cramped with the Octo 250 in it.

Well, time for an update. Sorry it's been a while, but I had a small disaster and things tank related were chaos. My auto top off switches stuck with vermetids and all 10 gallons of ro dumped in. Gfci tripped so skimmer and pumps went. Came back from work to a sad, sad sight. Lost a few corals and a couple of fish.

Since then, I've been building back. So here's some photos of the tank as I've restocked a bit and the tank has matured. I added another back up float switch to avoid further issues.

Sorry for the dirty glass, I ran out of razors to get the hard green algae off.

Love the fact that your goby has her burrow right on the glass! Very cool peek into that little world.

Labridae is an easy addiction to come down with - I've had a pretty bad case of it since I was a teen!
