So I am new to corals and feel very overwhelmed I must say.

I did buy a coral rock today from LFS and it has zoas, Xenia, a leather and something else that she couldn’t remember. Attached are pics.

Basically I am not sure what to look for and how long it takes for things to acclimate. I went and turned the flow down a lot to help let them settle in, not sure if that helps or not.

I have a 70in tank with two AI Orbit 4’s on each end with it set on pulse mode and usually at 50% speed, I took it down to 20% and upped the pause in between the pulses to 4 sec vs2 sec.

Any help would be appreciated. Also if anyone knows what the red thing is that would be helpful too.

I don't feel a need to turn down the flow when adding corals. They look fine for now, how long it takes to acclimate to your tank depends on how similar or different your tank is compared to where it came from. But generally you want to see polyps opening within the first few days if not right away.

That pally looks like the weed type, it will spread. The red coral looks like montipora, but I'm not sure the picture is not clear enough. They are both easy and hardy corals.

I would just keep the tank stable and they will do fine. Good luck

I’ll try and get better pics, my lighting doesn’t reach peak until a little later.

I turned down the flow because it looked like the Xenia were getting just obliterated by the flow. By the way, flow really messes with me too.
