New to keeping fish as a pet

Hey
Im completely new to this hobby and i have done quite a bit of research and im more or less convinced to have a saltwater aquarium. I live in India where the availability of equipments are pretty hard to find and more costly.
Wanted to know if there is any brand or company that is available here which is good and used by a lot of people?
One more question is how should i prepare myself to keep up with the maintenance and in general get the tank running successfully in the first attempt without any loss of fish life from my side?
Planning to get a clownfish and a dry rock with no corals ever(fish only tank)

Great place to start! Thats where I started over 9 months ago, although I had some experience, not much though, over 20 years ago. But from there I absorbed information from wherever I could find it. My opinion would be to make yourself a file and save any and all info you can find to use at different steps in the process. Study each part of the hobby completely before you take any steps. Good luck on your venture!

I suggest checking out Bulk Reef Supply, it’s where I started 11 years ago. In terms of brand, there is probably a tier list of economy brands, mid-tier, and luxury, and most are related to lighting and flow. If you pay those high prices no mind, your only paying for aesthetics and controllability which is not necessarily something a newer reefer should touch so much anyway to avoid tinkering.

Why no coral, scared of the law?

If you plan on never doing coral. I would look at some more interesting fish, than a clown fish, not that they aren't interesting, but there is a lot of fish that aren't commonly kept because they eat coral. There is a whole forum on here for this kind of tank a FOWLR tank (fish only with live rock), check out that forum for more info on these tanks, I'll link it for you :)
