I am about 18 months into this 60 gal build. I had a 120 gal about 15 years ago. That tank was pretty much a failure. It was a different hobby back then. There just wasn’t as much information easily available back then. I thought by throwing lots of money and equipment at a tank it would look great. I had a very early aqua controller, geo skimmer, geo calc reactor, metal halide/ fluorescent combo. I did regular water changes but not much testing. Needless to say the tank never took off. I was never able to keep corals and was plagued with algae issues. I kept the tank for about 3 years and finally gave up. I actually gave it all away to someone who just had to pick it up. Who knows, maybe it is still running somewhere
Like a lot of other people, I had lots of free time on my hands starting March 2020 and I picked up this used 60 gal.

The stand and canopy came with the tank. It was black, now I have it all cleaned up and painted white. Here it is in place with a small tank holding my new clownfish (Crockett and Stubbs) while I get the cube aquas aped and cycled

Picked up a Dalua skimmer and a trigger Emerald sump. Wow is it tight under a 2’ square cabinet. My last tank was 4’ and I was running out of room. Might have to think about the sump in the basement!
