Hi Everyone,
This weekend will be my 4th week since I have added saltwater to my tank.
I currently have a 40 gallon (used live sand and dry rock) breeder tank with a 20 gallon long as a sump.
As of right now I am wanting to have a bunch of zoas and acans. I will have some other corals as well, but I really like the looks of those 2.
I will be testing my water Saturday and if everything looks good I will be adding my first fish. Not sure what I am going to go with yet. Thinking maybe a goby or clown fish.
If anyone has any advice on when exactly I can add some corals and zoas please let me know. I am thinking maybe week 6.

Thanks and glad to finally get started

Welcome to R2R. The best advice is to take it very slowly. I know it's exciting to get some life in there, but slow wins the salty race. If you think you're tank is completely cycled, give it another week. Then add one fish at a time and let things stabilize before adding more. Yes, you will likely be able to add a coral or two but again, just take it slow.

That's my $.02 and I'm sticking to it!!!

Welcome to an exciting hobby, take it slow and enjoy:) oh and we love pictures:D

Welcome to R2R! Glad to have you here! You can add corals and fish slowly when your tank has established it's cycle (no ammonia or nitrite present). You'll want to go slowly and only add a couple of either every couple weeks.

Nitrites were still too high. No livestock in it yet. C4 is this weekend so really hoping my levels look good. I am going to scope out C4 and hopefully find something I want or someone that I can get from later.

Welcome home, you will love it here! :)
