I guess I have been hanging around here for a while, but never properly introduced myself.
I have had a saltwater tank of some type continuously for 36 years now. My first tank was a 10 gallon with undergravel air-lift filters with carbon and a heater, and I kept a crab, feeding it baloney on a stick. Over the years, technology changed, and I upgraded, from the 10, to a 20, to a 55, to a 110, and in March I moved into my current 240 gallon with a 60 gallon sump. Except the past 2 years, I have pretty much had fish-only tanks, maybe with an invert or 2 thrown in. So two years ago, I converted my 110gallon tank to be able to keep corals. A year or so later I moved the of contents of the 110 to my new 240, and I feel like I am starting to be successful with sps, which I was having lots of trouble with in my old 110 gallon. That being said, I still really like keeping fish, and the added challenge of keeping corals and inverts with the fish has been a lot of fun the past two years. Currently, I have a mixed reef with softies, LPS and SPS. Fish-wise, I have an Asfur Angel, a Moorish Idol (my favorite), a purple tang (new yesterday), a clown tang, a rabbitfish, 3 blue devils, a yellow coris wrasse, plus I did have a royal gramma and a firefish although they seem to be MIA the past few days :squigglemouth:. I have kept the fish load on the tank pretty low so that the Moorish Idol doesn't get crowded.
I am also currently fighting byropsis, which is truly a plague. I have tried all the traditional "cures", yet no luck. I wouldn't wish this stuff on anyone.
