New turbo snails not moving

Hello everyone, I am new to reef2reef and partially new to reefing. I have a 14g bio cube with 2 clownfish, a coral banded shrimp, 2 trochus, 4 hermits, and my newest additions a large and medium Mexican turbo snail. The only problem is i got the turbos yesterday and they still haven't moved around much, are they ok?

They can be. I got a shipment of 10 cerinth snails last week and 7 of them didn't move much for a couple days, if at all. All 10 are active now, after five days. I had a similar experience with my 8 trochus snails, and my freshwater snails. Inverts can, but not always, be a little groggy after moving tanks. If you have healthy inverts currently, then you probably don't have water quality issues that would outright kill your new snails. Did you get them from a local store or did you order them online?

If you're worried that they are deceased, you can always pick them up and give them I sniff. I've never had to, but folks around here have done it and say it's a pretty unmistakable sign...

Were they shipped, or did you pick them up from an LFS nearby?

If shipped they can take a bit to recover from the journey.

As stated too, the sniff test .... If dead, is very unpleasant, but works.

Sometimes my turbos will not move for over a day or occasionally longer. I recommend just waiting a little longer I wouldn't pull them out and stress them especially even more if there new.

My snails do what I always heard snails do…move extremely slowly! I see mine all the time in the same place, or if they’ve moved, it’s indiscernible to my old eyes. Hopefully this is just acclimation but yeah, pick them up and see!

Thank you for the replies and i have seen them slowly move about a cm and I got them from my lfs.

I have some large turbos and zebra turbos and mine are nocturnal and I never seen them moving except at night.

How did you acclimate them? I recall one scenario where I just temp acclimated then dropped them in and they took a while to move around and some didn't make it and a second scenario where I temp acclimated then did a drip acclimation and they were off and running and munching on all the green hair algae they could find. In both cases they were purchased from a LFS.
