i’m setting up a new nano fiji cube 32 ext and will be dosing 2 part for the first time (esv bionic). my last system was a 150 with not a ton of coral and regular water changes were enough so i ever had to dose. i plan on using red sea blue bucket and i think the alk mixes to around 8 to 8.5. that being said whenever i start dosing should i be trying to target that 8 to 8.5 range all the time. my thinking is, that if i do that there won’t be fluctuations whenever i do water changes. i could be completely wrong, but like i said i’m a newb when it comes to this.

Hi, and welcome!
Your strategy is right on target. The easiest method is to use a salt that is close to the parameters you want to keep and then maintain those levels. So if you want your alk to be around 8-8.5 then your choice of salt works great for that. Stable numbers that don’t fluctuate much is the key.
