Next Tank!!

Ok, need all your educated opinions. I’m looking to invest in my next tank. This will likely be a complement to my pride & joy reef tank, with all the predators and fish I can’t keep there. Here is what I am looking for:

• 5’ or 6’ long (5 preferred)
• Likely glass (but convince me if you think acrylic)
• I’ve done all in ones for most of my fish/reef keeping life. I would like this to have a sump.
• Turnkey sump and plumbing! I don’t mind losing flexibility, I just want to make sure everything works correctly, and does not leak. Plumbing is not my bag.
• External overflow preferred, but will consider internal if the rest is right.
• Room for small fuge and fleece roller in sump would be nice.
• Plan to do some form of AWC if that matters.
• Stand to accompany it in a package
• Price is not a deal breaker if all needs are met

Check into Fiji Cube. They have 142 gal. & 171 gal. complete systems that includes tank (ext or int overflow) plumbing, sump, stand. They are also currently 15% off. I have the 142 ext and its rock solid.

Cade Aquariums cant go wrong

Thanks for this. Just scoped out the pro reef 1500 S2 online. I think it checks most of the boxes. For anyone that has one of these cades with the ATO built into back of the tank, how do you like this? How do you fill the reservoir (with it being so high up?)

Bump on this. So far the Cade and Fijicube look like fine options. Price difference is something else between the 2 on the 5’ tank, about 2k difference!

The fijicube sump is not as desirable and there is no piping included, but it’s tough to justify that cost difference…

You should check out Aquajapan. Full set ups are pretty decently priced. The stands are really nice. All the glass including the sump baffles were Laser cut.

Here is my ext 170, 59×30×21.
I also have an ext 50 and just ordered an ext112.
Nice systems for the money.

They make nice systems. Lfs has one on display. I was going to go with the frag system but did not because of the center overflow.
Lfs had a grey one on display at a reduced price.
I went with another IM system.

Like this. A few questions, does the sump really take up the entire stand? Also it looks like you have to get up to 170 before you hit the 5’ tanks.

May be a new contender here. Looking for a few more details. What kind of space is left in the stand for an AWC system? Looks like there is a chiller area, what are those dimensions? Also, does UNS offer a mesh lid?

Also, viewing conflicting info on which side the electrical access is on. Appears to be the RIGHT side of the stand, or the LEFT side when viewing from front. Please confirm!

The electrical cabinet is on the left side when viewing from the front. There should be plenty of space for an AWC system, especially if you're not using a chiller. The footprint of the cabinet is 47.5CM X 30 X 71, or 18.7" X 11.81" X 27.95". The lower shelf and wire-management boxes inside the cabinet are removable as well if you want the largest internal space.

We don't have a mesh lid available yet, but we have had a few customers get lids made by Toplids or Kraken that came out really nice.

I've always loved waterbox, fiji cube, and IM. I have a waterbox right not but my next tank will be IM as I appreciate the added eurobrace the others dont have for larger tanks. Never ever a red sea.

I had a Cade 1800 S2 and it was a nice tank but not worth their new ridiculous pricing. Plus I'm extremely turned off by them now as my tank was dropped during a move (not when I got it) and they refuse to sell me a new tank only, I must but the complete system even though I have everything else already. I wont buy from them again.

The IM tanks have great deals right now.
