Hello. I have been using sodium nitrate for dosing for awhile now and I'm very happy with it. Unfortunately I forgot to order a new bag on my last order and now it'll be here on Tues. My Nitrate has fallen to 1.9 (I keep it around 8 - 10) as of this morning.

I have a bag of ammonium bicarbonate on hand, would you suggest I mix a batch of that up to feed the system until my order arrives? Or is an abrupt change like that not good?

I just don't want my Nitrate to bottom out. Thanks in advance for opinions.

Both corals & macro algae prefer ammonia to nitrate.
