How long does it normally take for Hammers to start branching off new heads? I’ve had this one in my tank since February and my Acans and Duncans are taking off. Tank is an SPS dominant but I do keep No3 at about 3-4 and Po4 currently is at 0.05.

Yes same Hammer, first pic is through the glass and the second pic is top down with all pumps shut off.

Can’t say how long it takes because every tank is different.
Where do you have it in the tank ? I’ve learned they really like the sand bed

I agree all of my euphyllia are in the sand and grow great that's my experience. Can try feeding it as well i use to feed mysis and just started using reefroids and i'll tell you the corals i give it to are super plump and i don't feed a lot of it to any one coral maybe half a pea.

It can take a while. Mine took about 2 months to go from 2 to 4 heads. It is going through the process of splitting each head into 2 right now.

Right now it’s on the far left back side of the tank where the light is lower and the flow is slower. Like I said it’s an SPS dominant tank so in a 40br I’m running 2 MP40s at 50% each and no real room for it to spread out with low enough flow if I put it on the sand bed.

Left back corner. Bad pic but you get the idea.

I have mine up on the rocks and they grow at a family decent pace. I think about 1 head to 8 heads in about a year. Since it's on a skeleton I doubt it knows if it's on the sand or on a rock. Sand bed area just probably more often has the flow and par it likes.

I heavily broadcast feed the fish with all the juice in the cup too but don't feed any special coral foods. No3 8 and PO4 0.045. Moderate flow and lighting.

Doesn't look like you have fish? Maybe it wants some fish poops. shrug..idk :)
