I had a crazy outbreak of a type of sea lettuce. It took over the tank. I was manually removing pounds of it a week. I was changing water like crazy. It would not go away. I used vibrant finally after two months of battling. It was gone in about 4 weeks. Tank was over 2 years old when the outbreak occurred.
With zero No3 what will it feed on?

There is almost always NO3. The stuff is eating it and bringing it down so your hobby grade test kit is telling you 0. I'm sure you have fish in there you are feeding so nutrients are being introduced. That lettuce type stuff I had was a real plague. Seriously, this is my 3rd reef tank. I had never dealt with anything remotely like it. I've dealt with aiptasia. That was a walk in the park compared to the sea lettuce type stuff I had. Vibrant will work.

Update: I removed all visible signs of the ulva algae and started treating with Vibrant(2times a week)(on second dose) and emeralds to reduce the bubble algae.
Daily water changes are at 1g a day set with the DOS and apex
No3=.25
Po4=.4
I bought some ME Coral Nitrate and I added the required amount 20ml per 100gal to raise it 1ppm.
Nothing for 24 hours so I added 30ml and finally a reading of 1.0 but after 24hrs it is at .25. Should I keep adding until I get it stable at 1 or something even higher?

For the Po4 I added only 50ml of Rowaphos to my reactor as the call was for 100ml but I was concerned on dropping it too fast. 50ml in this small reactor is like 1/2in of media so it is a really small amount.

Please any input on the chemistry here would be helpful whether I am going about it wrong or needs tweaking?
