My daughter and I both have EVO13.5 with Sicce 1.0 return pumps with a few fish and some coral. My pump is noisy, her pump was quiet! I recently put my stock pump back in my tank and it is pretty quiet. I went to do a water change on my daughter's tank and turned the return pump off. After the water change I plugged in the pump did not start! I knew how to take it apart and how to clean it and put it back together so I did just that. I noticed the impeller magnet had cuts in it possibly from barnacles or small build up of something cutting into the magnet but it was running quietly. I cleaned everything and put it back into chamber #3 and plugged it in. NOW THE PUMP WENT FROM QUIET TO NOISY! So I was thinking to 1) replace the impeller and hope that was the issue (I don't think this the issue) 2) buy a Sicce Syncra Nano pump so there would be nothing touching the tank other than the 4 suction cups. The Sicce 1.0 is a VERY tight fit in chamber #3 which was why I thought my pump was vibrating on the tank.

Any one using Sicce Syncra Nano in their EVO13.5?

Take the pumps back apart get some Vaseline and coat the impeller magnet and shaft with a very thin layer. Very Thin! Put back together. If still noisy get new impeller
