Question, has anyone cut and re-spliced the wire on a non-optical (float style) level sensor?

If so, how many wires were there, thanks. Pics would be a plus!

Reason I ask, I need to pass the wire thru a hole that is threaded to accept the float sensor, and the connecting plug is larger
in diameter than the diameter of mounting stud on the sensor.

It should be a NO or NC switch that acts similarly to a pushbutton - so 2 wires.

See https://aquarium.bulkreefsupply.com/reefing/Float-Switch for examples
Gabe,
Thanks for the info. I've use this style float switch many times in the past, and as you stated, its a simple NO/NC switch with two wires. And I would think the GHL would be the same. But before I cut it, and I will, I would just like someone to confirm.
