Hello reefers! We are a young family from Australia and complete noob to fish keeping. We decided when we built our dream house that we wanted to have an aquarium in the house. Fast forward 8 years and we have finally made the decision to go full steam ahead.

Hubby has in his head that this can be totally automated. We engaged a custom builder and quickly learnt that salt water tanks were not for the faint hearted but the more we looked into it, the more interested we became.

Tank was recently filled with natural sea water, and we were advised to start adding ammonia to kick start the fishless cycle today.

Fish tank is 2.4 meters long x 750mm tall x 560mm deep.
Lighting-We have 3 coral care gen 2 lined up for installation.
Skimmer-Mantis brand
Wave maker-maxspect brand
Flipper edge max

Auto top up and RODI system to be installed.
Heater to be installed

Looking into the future-UV steriliser and refugium and chiller.

Please follow this thread and also my instagram @reef2home as we embark on this journey.

Very nice! Congratulations on the new adventure!

Best of luck with the tank!!

Phillips Coral Care Gen2 x 3 has been installed. I think it looks pretty neat for an open tank.
We didn't want any canopy around the lights, prefer it to be open and able to see into the next room. However, not sure if there's any other way around getting the cabling to look better.
