I’m curious if my foxface is just laid back and often just resting or not? Very often I see him just resting on the sand. He won’t stay there in one spot for more than 10-30 seconds it seems but will often just move to another area and do the same. He is very fat and happy looking. As soon as I approach the tank he starts swimming around like it’s feeding time or something. Often picks at sand and stuff and swims around with the tangs. Eats extremely well and poops like a dump truck lol. But is constantly pausing on the sand bed normal for these guys? I’ve had him for several months.

My fox faces would hover around in one spot but usually by the rocks. It sounds like it is responsive to stimuli so I wouldn't be concerned unless it becomes lethargic or is breathing heavily.

I mean, I don’t know much about that but he doesn’t seem to have a problem staying upright or angled while foraging for food or anything.

Mine is only a couple weeks in the tank and still getting adjusted but he will rest on the rocks and a frag rack, but when he is stressed out,(my fish are sometimes skiddish) he reacts to the other fish and will camouflage himself with the rocks and lay in a crack but then a few seconds later he will yellow up and swim but I've seen him not stressed and yellow laying in the rocks.

Id say resting on something looks normal, but thats the only info and experience with a f.f

They really do have great personalitys for a fish.

Ours is a weirdo... king of the tank.. passive aggressive.. keeps the 6 line in check.
