Not needing to Target feed your Jawfish

Each day, my Bsj gets a chunk of Sally’s Krill from the end of my aquarium tongs. I do three tank feedings daily, but only feed the BSJ once, as it is quite the chore to meander the tongs around rock, coral and a gyre to where the BSJ is burrowed. I always give it a good sized chunk of krill, and that seems to be enough daily. The other fish get 3-4 different cubes of frozen whatever is on the menu at the time. I have frozen Trigger formula, but no trigger fish, just like a varied amount of food for the whole reef. I’ve never seen the BSJ go after any other type of food that is carried by flow to its burrow. Do you think this is because it is holding out for the krill? I put a Foxface in my tank with the hope of it becoming an algae grazer, but with 3 heavy feedings, and seaweed clips, I see it doesn’t want to graze, and lazily awaits for something more appetizing. Just curious if any reef keepers have to target feed there Jawfish since they generally won’t leave there burrow, or if they’ll go after passing food, and mine is just spoiled and demanding for its taste in garlic soaked krill?

Blue Spot Jawfish are zooplanktivores by nature. They feed off microscopic critters in the water column. Maybe it needs smaller options?

Try regular Hikari mysis and keep some flow on while feeding so it flows past him.
