Diodogorgia nodulifera are fairly "easy" as far as non photosynthetic Gorgonians are concerned. Yet flow speed and type, as well as food size is still important. Growth rates are slow, I get about .25-.5cm per month. They don't grow fast. But can be kept and grown.

They need a consistent laminar flow, and can tolerate slower flow speeds than other non photosynthetic Gorgonians due to larger polyp sizes. But around 10cm/s is a good start and you can adjust as needed, I've had them in double that.

They prefer a food particle size of 5-100 microns but I've found 15-50 ish to be perfect. I feed automatically throughout the day on the hour every hour (for other species) but several times per day is a must if you plan on having them grow. Shellfish diet will serve you well as it has two species of Diatoms (Thalassiosira weissflogii and T. pseudonana) I've seen the best feeding response from. Also golden pearls are a pretty consistent size and work well. Let me know if you need any more information or have more questions.
