I’ve got GHA and pink cotton candy algae growing through my chaeto in my refugium. Anyone else have this happen? How did you get rid of it?

Ended up tossing my chaeto and getting fresh. I tried cleaning, trimming, etc. But the darn GHA covers the chaeto keeping it from absorbing the light and the chaeto just shrunk and turned gross. Really bad smell.

Ok that’s exactly what’s happening to mine. Did you add any snails to your refugium to help with the algae?

Took the advice - threw out the old chaeto, pulled as much gha and cotton candy algae out as I could, added a few turbo snails, a few cerith snails, and a fresh clump of chaeto.

Now to try my new grow light strips over my refugium! Thanks guys!
