Hi! I’m setting up a Nuvo 30L to upgrade from my Nuvo 10! Right now, in my 10 gallon I have a pair of clowns and a yasha goby with a red banded pistol shrimp. I was wondering what other fish I could keep? I want to keep a Midas Blenny, a fairy wrasse (there’s too many options) and possibly a flame angel? I don’t think the flame angel would work but since the tank is longer than taller maybe? Just let me know your guys ideas!

Thanks

Do you plan to put coral in there? Some people have good luck with dwarf angels in their reef tank. Others, not so much. But 30l is is only 8g. I think and angel would be too big for that anyway. Definitely too small for a wrasse. Even the clowns are already too much. They'll need a new home faster than you think.

Stick with small gobies and blennies like the Two Spot Bimaculatus which stay pretty small, and have a lot of personality.

For smaller tanks, I always recommend masked gobies/eviota gobies/red spot and stripe gobies because they're a great addition. They stay small and are just fun to watch perch and school near the bottom.

EDIT: oops... read that as 'litters', instead of 'long'

What do you mean 30l is only 8g?

Angel would need more room than the wrasse. But personally I would not get either. Having more small fish, that need less room, will make the display feel more alive anyway.

Ya i guess.

I usually use Live Aquaria as a general guideline for appropriate tank size. They aren't hard/fast rules but something to check out when deciding on fish.

I’ve been checking out live aquaria and some wrasses would work but their tank minimum is different from the regular fish and the WYSIWYG fish if that makes sense?

It's pushing it a bit but I think a lubbock's fairy wrasse would work in there as it stays pretty small. Gorgeous fish too, arguably my favorite of the fairy wrasses. As for the Flame Angel, you are very likely to get an aggressive fish in there. I tried one in my old 36 gallon bowfront and it was a bully/jerk in every respect. If you are going to attempt an Angel, the Cherubfish is the only one I would try in a tank of that size.

Hi ! I have the Fusion 30 Pro(i think same tank as yours?) Did you successfully keep a flame angel in this tank? I already have 2 clowns and a yellow watchmen with a pistol shrimp but I really love the flame angel and was curious to see if this is a good idea or not lol..
