Has anyone worked out how to clean the bottom/inside of the long tube at the back of the NYOS skimmer?

I’m about to take it out for a clean and last time I couldn’t find anyway to get inside the tube. It looks like it’s sealed, but it can’t be air tight as it gets a small amount of skimmate inside it.

I emailed NYOS and never got a reply from them.

I'm not too familiar with this skimmer but have you tried soaking the tube in vinegar for a little while? That may help break up some of the gunk at least and then you will be able to rinse it out with water.

The adjusting tubing is not removable. Really silly design as I have their 160 and I didn't block my refugium light thusI got algae grew inside the tubing. I tried every methods to take the tubing apart but it is impossible.

Good I’m glad it’s not just me being stupid! Lol

I was pulling and all sorts at it but it doesn’t want to budge as you say.
