O-ring size for inlet connection on Vectra L2?

I can't seem to find this o-ring. I know you can buy it off Ecotech's parts site but the shipping is more than the part itself. I was hoping I could pick up a similar one from Lowe's, amazon, or Home Depot.

It's this O-ring that fits into this o-ring slot of the volute piece...

So I went to Lowe’s and found that the o-ring from a 1-1/2” Union standard schedule 40 fits in the groove.


The O-Ring Size:

• Standard Size: AS568-226
• Dimensions:
• Inside Diameter (ID): ~1.984 inches (approx. 2 inches)
• Cross Section (Thickness): ~0.139 inches (approx. 1/8 inch)
• Outside Diameter (OD): ~2.26 inches

But I’m not going to use it. I’m going to order the one from Ecotech —- since I’m guessing the Vectra is not standard I don’t know if the density or material is the same. And I don’t want this to be too thick or too thin that it cracks on tightening.

Plumbing is such a headache and time-ache? Lol I don’t blame you. A rando o-ring could definitely flex differently or not at all and impact intended performance

If it fits and it is proud of the surface it will work. If it was inside the sump, I wouldn't worry too much. If it lived outside the sump, I would get a replacement from grainger or Mc master or Ecotech

Ha ha @KrisReef .. just saw your money response to this thread. It’s true though.

What you don't want to do is just plop in a rando seal into the channel and then add teflon paste or some other pipe dope or silicone sealant to "fix the problem."

I go crazy when I see posts where folks "Fix" as in "establish" a plumbing seal that can't be undone.

I hate plumbing.

I did get the replacements from ecotech for the inlet o-ring (pn: 151-00118) and it is the exact size as the Lowe’s Standard Size: AS568-226 o-ring. So in case anyone needs a quick replacement from a big box store.

Although the cost from ecotech was reasonable at $1.50 each.
