Maybe cover your tanks to prevent ash from getting in. Im in san fran area....we have smoke here from the la fire!! Crazy! Hope you are ok.

Could the ash cause water quality problems? I hope you are wearing a mask outside because when I did not I got headaches and shortness of breath. Stay safe out there.

I was talking about when you start a tank outside have your tanks had algal blooms. Because that's what I have encountered with freshwater tanks.
