anyone have a clue on this one? it is one sweet coral - not a named one - looking for scientific id if we have any experts in here - it has me very perplexed, superficially similar structure to A. sarmentosa but i don't think it is
not a big deal just curious

its a top down photo its growing toward the front glass
i mounted it at 90* cause it looked like the branches were fuzing, table like, when i got it, but as you can tell it doesn't really table it just kinda grows whichever direction - fuzing to the next branch when they touch
notice how the axial coralites are thick and short and form a rosette around them?
i don't think i took a pic of it when it was smaller cause it was kinda an ugly brown frag :) but i'll look

Upon first seeing the original picture, my first thought was A. tenuis, as well. However, that's not even an educated guess. Beautiful piece.

hmmm tenuis...
i didn't even consider that cause of the blunt tips and apparent lack of of rasp like radial polyps - that and superficially it doesn't look like my identified A. tenuis. But now that you said that, if i just look at the newest growth, it does look like it could be
so unless someone has a better idea = A. tenuis it is

if the coral has been in your tank for 6 months or more then i dont agree, i have a couple tenuis and the polyp extension is almost like a mille, and mine seem to display more vertical , non-intersting growth, but i am not an expert, just getting into acros and have no guess what it is, YET., also the polyps are way close togeather. divaricata?, or loripes maybe? desalwii?

i've had it for a year - it started as a brown 2" frag i got it from a guy who said it was cool but browned out in his frag tank - so i thought i would give it a try
i originally place it upright but it just didn't look right, so after about a month of nothing, i placed it horizontal and it started to change color and grow, by the 6 month mark it had that baby blue color
