This pump is off and octo reef skimmer, I believe the 120 model? The pump is an AQ1000s. I am just not sure if this pump is operating at full capacity? Can anyone familiar with it confirm it is or is not pumping as hard as it should? Thank you.

I would say no, I would inspect the impeller, some impellers the pinwheels spin freely off the shaft and some are glued, if you have a glue model and it is spinning free that is the symptom you are showing.

Nope, pulled it apartment and the impeller is not spinning freely from the shaft, so it's intact as should be. I've recleaned all internal parts and going to run it for a while In my sink.

My skimmer air inlet was about 95% blocked by calcium, you needed an ice pick to clear it, you have to look very closely at it, from where the air inters to where it goes into the pump.
