But seriously. I have scowered the interwebs on some ideas for a show fish. I know what I want, problem is my tank isnt big enough for sharks lol.

Currently have a 93 gal cube. 32x32x24.

Stocking so far:
2 Picasso clowns
1 baby yellow tang about 2" big (he was my first fish and him and I go wayyy back)

The tank is primarily a LPS tank (well will be) with a few SPS pieces and softies.

What are your thoughts? And what are your thoughts on total # of fish i can have in the tank

Number of fish per tank is a rhetorical question. There is no real stocking guideline, as all fish are individuals and a lot depends on life stage (juvenile, adult, etc) and feeding. Some fish grow fairly quickly, others don't grow that fast. In a tank the size of yours, a Chevron Tang would make a good show fish. Not sure how your Yellow Tang would take it, but they are from different families of tangs and both are on the docile spectrum as far as surgeonfish are concerned.

93 g cube, what kind of fish were you looking at? That would help in the decision process, as its not a really big tank. On the other hand, you could get a bigger one, and then have your sharks.:bigsmile:

HA! Im not sure how well that would play out with the Mrs. Fish ideas ive been having is maybe some large wrasses. Or a school of 3 schooling bannerfish (Heniochus diphreutes) not Heniochus acuminata.

They would give the tank some life and i think I could get a few smaller wrasses in before the tank would be full.

With the tank only being 32" long, I honestly question whether a Yellow Tang is even suitable. In general, you want a Tang to be able to swim 6 body lengths before its time to turn around. Something like a Chevron Tang would not even have 3 when full grown :/ I would be more comfortable to recommend a Foxface. Otherwise, a Dwarf Angel would be nice, but they come with risks as you know. Other options could be a mix of Wrasses.

For # of fish, in general I like to use the 1 fish per 10 gallon rule. This assumes a mix of small, medium and large that are all suitable for the tank (so 12 Tangs in a 125 would not be the mix I am talking about :)). So for you, somewhere in the 7-11 range depending on the exact fish you decide on.

When the tang gets to big hes going to a bigger tank (either mine or someone elses).

Im just looking for something that someone that has zero tank experience can look at and go WOW THATS AMAZING
