Hey, I’ve been looking at some coral for my tank that I’m going to be setting up soon, and I think I create a list that’s okay, but would definitely love some advice! For background, I’ll be getting an Innovative Marine 20g AIO Fusion, and I’m going to use the HyperReef 100. For fish, I was thinking of a court jester goby, tailspot blenny, and royal gramma. Now, for corals, this is what I have:

Leather Mushroom Coral
Zoanthids
Green Sinularia
Ducan Coral
Acan Coral, or Blastomussa (which would be better, I’ve heard cases for both?)
Mushroom Corals (Discosoma)
Ricordea florida
Pulsing Xenia

Thanks for any advice!

I'd recommend skipping the xenia, or at least put it on it's own rock. You add xenia to one spot of the tank and it ends up everywhere. The hyper reef is a good light, I'd recommend starting it dim and slowly working your way up in brightness as your coral list isn't very light demanding. Overall list looks good.

I'd probably pass on the Xenia. In addition to possibly being invasive I've never been able to get mine to pulse much and that's really the only thing it has going for it IMO. I think I always have more flow than it likes.
I started my IM 20 a few months ago. Its my first AIO and a nice little tank.

Thank you for the suggestions! I was going to separate the Xenia in its own little island, I really love the pulsing from it, but if pulsing can be an issue I might not want it.

The blasto is less aggresive than an acan but acans are way nicer looking IMO. Either that or you can do both. Skip the Pulsing Xenia. Discos and Zoas can also overtake rock work so make sure they have their own island or make sure you're ready to remove portions of it to keep them under control.

Thanks for the info about the Acans and Blastos. I’m really trying to make this tank easy since this will be my first reef, so I’ll probably get the blasto and see how it goes. I was also a bit eh on the Disco, I’m not really liking how it looks, but I think it’ll add a nice contrast of texture
