Old School SPS Reef v5.0

Amazing tank. Just placed an order from midwest custom for a 60x30x20 peninsula and debating lighting. Still have my old 8 bulb 60" tek t5ho fixture from 2010ish that grew coral like crazy and thinking of using it, what bulb combo are you running? Also have two quanta meso blues and a tropic sun and was just thinking of ordering three 60" reef crest daylights for the middle since 60" t5 bulbs can be hard to get sometimes.

I would think 1 more tropic sun and 1 more Meso blue would put you in a really nice place! I didn’t love the new reef crest it was a bit green for my liking when any blue bar already has some cyan in it.

I am running 3x blue plus & 3x coral plus currently as well as the GHL LB3.

When I do exhaust my supply of t5 bulbs or my fixture gives up the ghost, I’ll probably build a canopy to hold 3x Meso blues and then use my LET retro kit for 2x coral plus bulbs until they don’t make them anymore.

I run 2 Photon 50's and 3 or4 uv/v bars on my 60×30×21. Im happy with the results today at a little over 2 years.
From both ends yesterday.
You will love the 30" depth!

Love it! The depth will be quite the upgrade.

I would think 1 more tropic sun and 1 more Meso blue would put you in a really nice place! I didn’t love the new reef crest it was a bit green for my liking when any blue bar already has some cyan in it.

That 3x blue plus and 3x coral plus is what I used to run along with a GE 6500k in the middle and one actinic. Didn't consider the age of my ballasts, probably not a path to start down at this point and should just leave the fixture in retirement. But T5s just work.....

Ballast can be replaced. I ran T5's and replaced ballasts when they died over the years.
They will grow anything!
I still have 2- 2 bulb 48" T5 units with c+ and b+ bulbs I have never used, lol. ,
The current led bars are equivalent to 2 T5s. You could build a nice setup with bars only.
5 xr15's between the T5's.

Running this combo over what was my 40 breeder until the silicone started to fail last week, so now its all in a stock tank until the new tank arrives or I drill out another 40 breeder I picked up. Ordered 10 of the 36" t5 bulbs last year for it. Growth is really starting to take off after setting up the tank one year ago.
