No, I had to take it down 2 years ago because I was worried about the seems because the tank was 10 years old
and the black silicone was turning gray and got worried:( We have a 750xxl now and working on it Thanks!

The green slimer is Acropora Youngei

Shawn Bennett has a tort, but this one is yellowish green - sometimes more yellow and sometimes more green. It is a cool coral and can look really good under warmer lighting. It is called Shawn Bennett Yellow Tort. :)

Very nice, I got a tort that I am assuming came from the same lineage, I got it from Bruce in Northern Va. who has had the tank of the month before a few years ago.

Stubers acro was my first one. Probably about 1992 ish.

I picked up a nice chunk of stubers stag from a friend and I actually really like it. Everyone always turns it down and says its brown but its really not. I like the coralite structure on it.

Comments like this make me wonder if coral is like trees where a bug or disease (like Dutch elm disease and now emerald ash borers) can wipe out a specific species (or subspecies) and nothing else. I could see a new strain of coral possible introducing something an older strain can’t cope with and it get passed around the hobby decimating the older coral.

I I would have still had my colony if I didn’t lose my whole tank in my move

Oregon Tort & ORA German green acro with blue polyps(or whatever it was called). Originally acquired from Atlantis Aquarium aroun 07 or 08. Both grew into decent colonies in my old 90, then died off when i had kids, then grown out again in my 180 except i just burned the tips a little due to high alk w ULNS. Also have the ATL Sunrize milli but its not worthy of a pic.

This thread brings a tear to my eye, nearly 20 years into the reef tank hobby for me. So many of these corals I have kept, loved, and lost over the years... it’s almost painful to see some of these names, having endured two crashes that wiped out gigantic colonies I had of many of these corals.

One of my all time faves: 30K leagues Lokani.

Makes perfect sense. Our captive corals are almost all clones. Just look at the Irish potato famine or what is happening to the Cavenesh banana.

One of my moodiest corals ! The color swings day in and out .. It has grown into 4 inch round colony for me and when it’s in bloom - it’s the craziest looking in my tank . Easily my fav of all the colonies !
