Wow, impressive pics! How much does one of these cameras cost? Just curious ...
Tough 6000 is around $275 and Tough 8000 is around $375 I believe... ours was around $375 when it was all said and done... we bought the 2 year warranty, mostly to get the second battery (they said, we can request for the extra battery after Best Buy's return policy of 14 days).... then, we bought a camera case (you might not need this since the camera can be dropped from 5-6 ft without damage, supposedly), 4G mini SD, and tax... :)

yea my first underwater was the olympus 1030sw.

i loved it....until the little cover around the lenses broke off before my vacation

Got a replacement (via accidental insurance by bestbuy) now have the stylus 8000. I love this one equally as well.

Only downside to the camera is the white balance you cant manually adjust it. I felt that some pictures came out too blue.

Overall, I suggest it to everyone

you should see peoples faces when i dump my camera in a tank or at the beach. I toss this thing 10 feet away and it drops on the floor and doesnt break. dont suggest throwing it but i have done it to test out the shock feature and it still worked

hahah

:hammer:

I deliberately dropped it from a table right after we took it out of the bag and it was fine... I'm really impressed with this little camera and I do plan on experimenting more with features and will posts some more pics, hopefully at least once a month... :)

Great pics folks!!! What is the difference between the 6000 and 8000 besides higher MP? How long can they be underwater? I have to get one of these guys down the road!

8000 – shockproof to 2m**, waterproof to 10m***, crushproof to 100kg**** and freezeproof to -10°C

6000 - shockproof to 1.5m**, waterproof to 3m*** and freezeproof to -10°C

these are the main difference I based the decision on not spending the extra $100 you pay for the 8000 on... I might regret not spending the extra $100... I figured we won't be snorkeling or scuba diving anytime soon with our youngin's... in a few years, I'll get the latest and greatest when we're able to travel more... so go for the 8000 if you see vacation time in your near future... :)

this link might help out... I just googled it... :)

Thanks for the info!!! With a newborn coming in January. I don't think I will be doing much travel for a while. How ever I might spend the extra $100 for the extra perks.

Very nice shots Marvin. Are you still using the fish setting on macro? I used that setting and the flash automatically came on. I did not think to turn it off manually. I am going to have to go snorkeling in my tank again for some photo opportunities.

Thanks...

I tried a few different ones and I'm not sure which modes those pics are... I just chose the best ones and re-sized them... picture quality I turned up to Fine, instead of Normal though... :)

Nice pics Marvin, I may go check out one of those. I sure cant get any good pics with my canon.lol.
Canons are excellent camera... my wife is actually gonna pick one up for her... :)

but UnderWater ones, you cannot beat the Olympus... the 6000 is great for its price...

I think my problem is more with the user than the camera. I have a rebel xt but Ive never spent the money on a good lense or taken the time to get good with the camera.
