Hey guys I wanted to make a build thread from the start, but I became distracted by the huge learning curve. I wish I could have documented the whole thing. However, I can give you the fast track of where I am one year and four months into the hobby. This is my first saltwater aquarium coming from 5 years of fresh water tank keeping. I went with the Redsea Max e 260 AIO. My aquarium stands with all the manufacturing equipment, as I was overwhelmed by all the choices of everything I figured this was going to be a safe route. I have not added the under cabinet sump, but may in the future. The only part I added was a tunze ATO system. I have had a lot of ups and downs from Dinos (8 month battle) to fish loss. This is my fresh start and will document from here on out. It may not be the prettiest but its my little slice of the ocean I will continue to improve. Let me know your thoughts and opinions of what you see!

You are off to a solid start it looks like! Cool scape! I bet you will end up with a sump sooner rather than later. Once I got a tank with a refugium, I don't think I will go back to not having one.

What is your fish stocking list? Looks like a pair of clowns, diamond goby and wrasse?

I think I will end up with a sump as well soon lol. I have two bullet hole clowns, watchman goby, blue star leopard wrasse, and a flame angel. Still looking for another fish or two, but haven't decided. I learned my lesson with fresh water that I make sure its the fish I want before it goes in lol. Then I also have a sand sifter star, nasarius snails, Mexican turbo, and torches running around in there. Also four hermits which I collect their shells from the beach as they grow,

My recent obsession has been fairy and flasher wrasses. Take a look at them if you're considering adding more fish!

Not much has changed in the tank in the past month, however, hurricane prep has happened. Filled up 40 gallons of fresh RODI water (don't forget about those boil water notices guys), emergency air stone with 12 D batteries, Fresh water change, and a good feeding as I plan to not feed if the power goes out, or feed minimal. I have a generator for when the hurricane passes by so we should be set. Some other updates, I found an old purple torch that must have fallen behind the rocks forever ago with just a little tissue alive, however, its gone from purple to gold ! wild, Anenome has split into three, looking to put them up for adoption soon as I can remove them. Lastly, ordered some extra goodies from Topshelf aquatics this weekend because I couldn't make it MACNA due to lack of gas from DORIAN scare. My biggest issue this month is my new blind boa still won't open but just a little hair or two for about the past two months, trying to be patient.
