Hello, I purchased a dispar anthia a week ago and it has been shy hiding in the rock work a lot. The only time it comes out is if I turn off all flow in the tank. I thought anthias loved flow yet if I turn the pumps on even to 25% he goes back into the rocks. Anyone seen this before? Yes the turning off of pumps typically means feeding time but I have not seen it eat any of the pellets or mysis I put in at feeding time. I do see it gulping tiny particles but those particles are flying around even more when the pumps are on yet he is hiding in the rocks.

Thanks,
Jason

What other fish do you have in the tank? Fish take time to get used to there surroundings.
Yellow eye kole tang
Timor wrasse
Melanarus wrasse
Midas Blenny
Coral Beauty
2 Talbots damsels

But the anthia has no problem being out and about those fish when the gyre pumps are off
