I am coming to Orlando next Tues and Wed then over to the Tampa area for a couple weeks on vacation.

Anybody from the Orlando/Tampa area have any must see or do's for me and the family? Anybody got any free tickets or discount tickets to dinner shows, parks, or whatever? I aint to proud to beg! LOL! I can also pay or trade!

I know I will be dropping in for a surprise visit to WWC while I am there.

So any locals got anything? :D

Oh yea is there anybody with kids in the Tampa area that are selling those coupon booklets from the schools? I know they are out down there because I called them, but I waited to long to get them. :(

I love those things! I just picked one up for the Baltimore/Annapolis area where we live. When we go out to dinner, I bust out the coupon book :)

Have fun while your down there.

Rev, you should visit WWC. Last time I was there I absolutely no time to visit. Kinda regret.

If you want the hook up for Disney tickets, let me know. There is a guy in Orlando selling Disney tickets of really really cheap. Legit ticket.

Good place to eat and has nice saltwater displays is Rain Forest Cafe in Orlando. There's one at the gates of Animal Kingdom (Disney), and another at Downtown Disney (outdoor shopping, eating, and nightclub (Pleasure Island)) type of place. It's decked out in a jungle theme, including periods of thunder and lightning - cool place to stop and eat if you've never been to one.

The Florida Aquarium is in Tampa, but I don't think it's worth the time or money.

If your into water parks, the Sea World family just opened up this year a water park that's supposed to be unbelievable.

We go to Florida just about every year, and may be moving to the Tampa/St. Pete area in the near future.

We're are you staying at in Tampa - beaches?

Orlando...kids or not, I would do Universal/Islands of Adventure....great fun not matter what age. Definitely check WWC while your there. As said prior, Sea World has some nice stuff, check out Aquatica. Disney is allways top notch.

Tampa...aquarium is cool but not an all day thing. There is still Busch Gardens and Adventure Island. Check out Coral Corral, FAOIS, Marine Warehouse, St Pete Marine.

Oh..and like snake said...a TBRC hookup/collection trip at Ft DeSoto. I may be bringing my boat.

some further thouhts:

buccaneers' tickets are probably availible and cheap
the tampa aquarium offers an eco-tour on the bay
if you do a fish store day to those mentioned you'll be close to philippi (sp?) park in safety harbor. nice spot for a picnic, nice sized indian mound with a view from top
MOSI at USF in tampa
mote marine lab in sarasota. stop at the bishop planetarium in bradenton on the way and pet a manatee. beaches down there are nice
lowrey park zoo in tampa-not the fanciest, you may weep in the aquatic section, but you can feed the 'rays
my wife enjoyed the clearwater aquarium and the suncoast seabird sanctuary

FAOIS and Coral Corral are the best stores in the Tampa Bay area. they are both located in Oldmar off of Tampa Rd. Coral Corral is a bit hidden behind a lowes/home depot (cant remember which one) in an industrial wharehouse strip. I went there about 2 months ago and they had just moved to that location. Inside it was more impressive then WWC -- Im in Grad school in Orlando and i visit WWC often so I believe I can make that comparison.

You know that not so hard to find chalice that WWC so aptly gave the name SUPERMAN too...guess where it came from???

Coral Corral as a no name for what the guy there told me was less than $1500 for a colony piece close to 1ftx1ft!!!

No doubt in my mind that Coral Corral is the best store in Central Florida right now, not just becuase its huge with a great selection, but because they are not hellbent on selling 1/2" pieces for hundreds of dollars, same goes for FAOIS...Dont get me wrong Victor and the guys at WWC are great and i give them my business, but its just nice to go back to my hometown of Clearwater and visit stores that are in it for the hobby still. Believe me, you can be in it for the hobby these days and still make a living, maybe not drive a BENZ/BMW [usually more than 1 parked outside WWC ;)] but you can still do good. Now the guys at WWC are making a straight killing! buying no name chalice colonies from the "good guys" for just a little over wholesale or at it and then naming it and ripping it into prob a 100 pieces for $250 a pop
