I got my orphek icon and the universal tank mount in and decided to toss it on the frag tank
Adjusted it left and right and it’s not even close to level. It’s almost like it’s bending the mount and I can’t figure it out. Iv always ran radions but decided to try out the famous orpheks and now I’m having this problem right off the rip.
Also..
Iv read so many posts about using one single light over a 48x24x24 tank yet I have mine on a 48x24x16 tank and I have it at 24inches from the bottom of the tank and the edges are getting next to no light. It’s looks ridiculous in my opinion. All tips and tricks welcome!!
Thanks

I noticed a small tilt on my orphek natura with the mounting kit , I basically bent it a bit so that it makes itself sit flush , I

Thanks for the tip. At that rate I may just send this back and go with radions like the rest of my tanks lol
Ye in your case you would have to mount it higher probly from the ceiling to get good coverage , I think 24 inches from the water surface

Yeah I had it as high as the mount allows at first but seeing how much is was leaning made me uncomfortable so I lowered it. But even then there’s some info out there if hanging it at 24inches from the bottom of the tank and it’s the edges are still getting just enough par to keep softies and stuff. But the tank looks silly to me with how shadowed the sides are

You might have to get creative with some shelves if you really wanted to but that is doing a lot lol

I reached out to orphek so hopefully they can either give me answers or give me mount worth a dang. If not I’ll likely just return the mount and hang the light. But hopefully doesn’t have to end up that way

I cured one of my Natura lights tank mounts by putting a slither of the plastic spaces between the bracket attached to the tank and the upright. You only need about 3/8" by the with of the upright to tilt it back lightly and make a different.

Great thinking!!
I heard back from orphek and they pretty much say they can’t make any changes to the mount without increasing weight which then increases shipping rates which they don’t want to do. They then went on to say it’s built to be able to bend it to make it level lol

Here you go, sorted. I will paint the white plastic black but you could use black plastic of course.

This is an Atlantik, right? I have one over a 48"x20"x20" tank and it does not cover everything. You will need to raise yours higher to get coverage and probably increase the %s to max (I run the default Helius program that has all channels peaking at 80%). I ended up getting bars for the sides and also one for the front that is angled inwards.

Sorry, no advice on that mount. I used 3030 (mm) T slots and there is no notable bend.

Yeah is certainly doesn’t cover a 48in tank but I decided to buy some 36in bars to add to the front and back to help get more lighting to the sides. It’s over a frag tank so I’m not super pressed. Beautiful tank and I really like how you set up yours lights

The Atlantic is at most only suitable for a 3' tank. Lifting it uphill increase the spread but drop the PAR plus there will be wasted light due to overspill front and back.
I had 2 Atlantic icons on my 5' tank with 2 light bars on the front and 1 on the back. I mounted them just 8" off the waters surface. I replaced the Atlantics 2 days ago with 3 Naturas and refitted a rear light bar.
