Out of touch question, Ca media.

Hey all.

I'm a little out of touch with reef tank info, haven't had much to do with my local group for sometime, and generally just keep to myself.

I'm coming to the end of my 2 tubs of Rowalith C+ and see it's no longer available (not sure why), at least this side of the pond, so what is everyone using instead, my PF 601 is very well fluidised as I swapped out the pump from an Aquabee to a PanWorld 30PX.


Grateful for any info.

Meant to add, that most of, not all the media is fairly large, but as Rowalith C+ is a mix of C and W, for the additional elements, what if any mixtures are people buying or making themselves.

I've been using ReBorn by Two Little Fishies for the last 5 months and have been pretty happy so far.

All I have seen is the course stuff. That wont work well in a recirculating reactor.

I know this may verge on being off-topic, but just in case it may be interesting: consider switching to DIY two-part and/or vinegar+kalkwasser and swap out the whole reactor.

Either two-part or kalk+vinegar could be a whole replacement for the reactor by itself, but they work pretty well together too. Most folks seem to be doing one or the other (or both) these days, and even for my high-volume SPS system it cost practically nothing.

However, if you're dedicated to the reactor, I understand. :)

P.S. Everyone I know who uses a Ca reactor uses ARM media. FWIW.

Have read that some are using aragonite sand with zeomag as it's small enough to fluidise.
Anyone know why they stopped doing the Rowalith C+?
