Hi All,

Hoping someone can help point me in the right direction.

I've had a P4 setup for a week now. I can't seem to get it to hold the wifi connection. I set it up as per the online video instructions, connected and works fantastic. Thing is, at least a couple of times a day, it will drop the wifi connection. The green wifi light on the front of the P4 turns to orange and the only way it will reconnect is to switch off the P4 and allow it to reboot.

I've now assigned it a static IP but the problem still persists. No other devices on my network behave like this. Router has band steering disabled as I have other devices that will only operate correctly on 2.4Ghz.

Wifi Firmware version on the P4 is 7081.

Any help would be great, this is getting a little frustrating not knowing how to fix it.

Tanks.

Check your wifi channel on your router and the Profilux. Make sure they are not on the same channel.

Your wifi is a higher version than mine. I’m running 7078

How far away are you from the WiFi router?
Is your 802 mode b/g or b/g/n in the network section ?

Ditto, router is about 2 meters away with just the tank cabinet been the only obstruction. I even took the P4 out of the cabinet for a day to see what would happen and it still dropped the connection.

Mode is b/g, this is what it defaulted to when it was first setup.

If you change it to b/g/n does it stablize?

Are you dual band on your Router? Is it also b/g/n?

haven't tried changing it over.
yes... it's dual band, but I have band steering disabled so each device either connects via 2.4 ghz or 5ghz.
not sure what difference changing the P4 settings to b/g/n will make as "n" is the dual band standard so it's kinda redundant. nonetheless, I'll give it a crack and let you know.
