Painting a UV sterilizer?

I am doing a new build and I am doing a clean sump build. I hate the way the UV sterilizer doesn’t match. Any reason I wouldn’t be able to paint it grey? See pic of sump area and pic of paint I would use designed to stick to PVC.

but IMO....Orange would look better......and pls dont listen to me....I have about 14 different colors under my tank LOL.....

I made them. I’m pretty handy with CAD

Just make sure you don't paint threads or if it has a window to see if the tube is lit, a little masking should be fine.
