I am having success breeding banded pipes, bangaii, and just had my first maroons (on day 3). Someone local contacted me with 2 clarkii that have been together for at least2 years as far as they know and doing great with a carpet in a 40 gal. My question is, they are both very large (4" or so same size) Does this mean it is probably two large females getting along or could it be a male that has grown as large as his mate. I have been interested in breeding clowns for some time and have 2 spawning pair and it seems the norm that you always have a large (female) and a small (male). I will post a pic soon.
