I read on a thread that you can use panty hose for media, such as carbon, etc., but the posted noted "white" panty hose. My questions is: Does it matter what color they are? I just want to know before I add my gf's **** panty hose for some phosphate remover.
Thanks.

I'd imagine that the white ones would be better due to the lack of dye. Who knows if something would leach out of the dyed ones and lead to problems. You may just want to run to the LFS and grab some mesh media bags. At my LFS they're only about $2 and its better safe than sorry IMO

keep away from the fishnet they leak, Ive used whatever was hanging around without any trouble, odd backhand across the mouth but no tank troubles
